Hospices and Respite Care

BY INVITATION ONLY

The Foundation has supported charities seeking to improve end of life care for terminally ill patients for many years.

Latterly, the Foundation has been working with Hospice UK to try to increase access to hospice care. A report published by Hospice UK in 2021 ‘Dying Behind Bars’, examined how the surge in the numbers of deaths in prisons had led to a significant unmet need for end of life care. In partnership with Hospice UK, the Foundation has been supporting a grant programme to try to improve access to and quality of palliative and end of life care for people in prison.
