The Arts

BY INVITATION ONLY
The Linder Family has close ties with The Arts. With this in mind, and in memory of the founding family, the Trustees have established a specific grant category for The Arts.
The Foundation is proud to sponsor the V&A Illustration Awards, a free, biennial competition celebrating excellence in illustration and contemporary practice, and judged by a panel of prominent illustrators and industry experts.
First established in 1972, the V&A’s competition is defined by a focus on the British illustration industry, celebrating artwork made for the UK market by artists from across the globe as well as artwork made by illustrators living the UK. In 2004 a record over 2000 entries were submitted, covering artwork from the period 2022 – 23. Our winners this year draw on a wide range of inspiration, spanning genres, eras and locations across the globe. Categories : Adult Fiction, Adult Non-Fiction, Advertising and Commercial, Illustration for Children, and Emerging Illustrator.
Application is by invitation only.

V & A Illustration Awards
Continuing the legacy of Enid and Leslie Linder, The Linder Foundation proudly sponsors the Victoria and Albert Museum’s Illustration Awards.
Substantial prizes are awarded to the winners, as well as additional awards going to students of illustration. In this way, the awards embody the Foundation’s aim to encourage and enable excellence within the arts.
Previous student winners, Sally Dunne and Vyara Boyadjieve, have both gone on to secure contracts for book illustrations with publishers.
